A mid cut waterproof safety work boot, the Douglas is built with an injection moulded outsole built to withstand heat of up to 300C:

Heat Resistant Outsole
A combination of PU and Rubber are blended together to produce an outsole that will keep your feet protected against extreme temperatures. Certified up to temperatures of 300°C, this outsole contributes to the HRO safety certification rating applied to the Douglas boot.

Steel Plate Midsole
A steel midsole plate can offer many benefits to workers in hazardous environments.

Protection from punctures: Steel midsole plates can prevent serious injuries to the feet caused by sharp objects, such as nails, screws, or glass, that may be present on the floor. They are tested and certified to resist a penetration test using a nail with a force of 1100N. They can also protect the feet from electric shock and chemical hazards.

Corrosion resistance: Steel midsole plates are made of stainless steel, which contains a minimum of 10.5% chromium, the element that prevents the steel from corroding. This ensures the long-term protection and durability of the midsole plates, even after repeated use and exposure to harsh conditions.

Flexibility and comfort: Steel midsole plates are designed to fit comfortably and securely on the feet, without compromising the mobility or flexibility of the wearer. They come in various shapes and widths to suit different foot types and preferences. They can also be adjusted or customised to provide a better fit and comfort.

Heel Guard

You will find a TPU overlay on the heel of the Douglas boots. This increases the durability of this area that is often a part of safety boots that see a lot of wear and tear.

TPU is the abbreviation for thermoplastic polyurethane and its particularly sturdy, abrasion resistant and flexible.

Impact protection isn’t the only important feature to consider from your work boots. Keeping the elements on the outside is key to keeping your feet feeling cool and dry throughout the working day.

The uppers of the Douglas are crafted from waterproof leather, and combine with a Hydroguard bootie inside for a complete waterproof design.
Hydroguard booties are created from a membrane with tiny pores that are too small for water droplets to get through, but large enough to allow vapour molecules out, meaning sweat and body moisture escapes rather than building up inside of the boot.
